Department of Radiation Oncology
The Department of Radiation Oncology at Lehigh Valley Health Network features a multidisciplinary team of board-certified radiation oncologists, radiation therapists, radiation oncology nurses, radiation physicists, medical dosimetrists, clerical staff and a support team of psychologists, social workers and dietitians. Our five high-energy linear accelerators offer the most powerful beams of radiation available on the East Coast and are capable of delivering Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IRMT). We also offer stereotactic radiosurgery, Gamma Knife radiosurgery, brachytherapy services, prostate seed implants and radiation therapy planned on simulators. This Radiation Oncology team is part of a comprehensive Cancer Center that treats more than 2,600 new cancer cases yearly and is ranked in the nation’s top 1 percent for patient satisfaction. The Cancer Center is a founding member of the Penn State Cancer Institute and is accredited as a Teaching Hospital Cancer Program, providing access to research, treatment and clinical trials not otherwise available in the region.
